Families
Russian families are large and friendly. The meaning of the family in Russia is not limited to the husband, wife and children. It stretches to include grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces. The members of the Russian family closely communicate with each other and frequently get together, especially on birthdays and anniversaries. Russians cherish their families and are always ready to help their relatives in difficult times. The tradition that everyone should love their own home and protect their family is taught into Russians since the early childhood.

day of conception
September 12 is an annual holiday in Russia. The official, government-sanctioned “Day Of Conception” allows opposite-sex couples to take the day off from work with pay to make babies. The governor of the Ulyanovsk region, Sergei Morozov, this year will award an apartment to one couple whose baby is born nine months from the holiday.
The annual holiday is in reality a fertility campaign designed to increase Russia’s struggling economy and relatively small population of 143.4 million people across a vast landmass.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that prohibits the promotion of ”non-traditional sexual relations,” also known as the “homosexual propaganda” law, which has led to a boycott of all things Russia from the West.

Russian ballet
Russian Ballet is extremely competitive. Dancers starve themselves just to stay in shape. Think of it more as the real life "Black Swan".
This is a documentary about just how far dancers go to be the best.
Moscow International Ballet Competition has become a tradition. Founded in 1969 it quickly attained professional prestige as well as a reputation of a serious platform for young dancers. The magic of the Bolshoi Theatre has always attracted young dancers from all over the world, and success on its famous stage meant wonderful future possibilities.
In the video above it talks about a famous ballet academy that is extremely hard to get into as well as stay in. It shows dedicated dancers learning how to preform "The Nutcracker" as well as just how much work and effort is needed to learn it.
